Random List of Funny Phrases and Quirky Words

So many people are known for, and even sometimes by, the phrases or words they use often. Here are some I have noticed lately. I must admit, I catch myself using most, as I'm sure many others do as well... Some of these drive me crazy, some I absolutely LOVE to use, and some I've never really thought about whether I like or not. Enjoy!

Cheesecake Rant

Not much to say for today... Why is it that so often on days when you really want to write something, you have nothing to say? Well, that may include many days in my life. :D However, I will say this... I am VERY excited to make the cheesecake I got the recipe for today. I tried a piece, and friends, this is coming from a VERY picky cheesecake eater... IT WAS INCREDIBLE! So, now my cheesecake rant is over I believe I will retire to my sleeping quarters as I will be rising with the sun to go watch the balloons launch tomorrow morning! Yay!!!!!

Just Another Day In... Paradise?

I recently attended the Patriotic service held at the Marriott Center on BYU campus. Let me tell you it was a little strange... I was going expecting something like the usual YSA firesides we have often, but found myself listening to loud, patriotic, marching band music, a Jewish man pray, a famous opera singer perform the national anthem among other pieces, and a few patriotic speeches.

Among these cultural events I was given the opportunity to listen to a man whom I have become quite fond of listening to. His name is Glenn Beck. This is one of those people who tells the world the way things are without fear of persecution or mocking. He knows he could lose his job at any moment for the things he says, but trusts so fully in God, he doesn't care what the world does to him. He is a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (sometimes more commonly known as LDS or Mormons) and allows his religion to be apart of his everyday life.

When this man spoke, though the meeting was one of patriotism and not religion, he brought to the attention of all in attendance that those two are not really ever, separated. It is because of God we have this land; it is because of God we have the freedoms we do; it is because of God we are such a powerful and blessed nation. Our government can do all they want to destroy the idea of God in our lives, and with it will come the utter destruction of our country, but we must never let that belief and devotion to the Almighty ever dwindle.

WE THE PEOPLE must take charge, WE THE PEOPLE must put hope back into the heart of this nation, and WE THE PEOPLE must fight to preserve the truths and values of this sacred land.
